The word 'coach'
The word coach comes from a mediaeval word coche which means a wagon or a carriage. The word still has the same meaning: when we travel, we need a means of transportation. Similarly, the coach is a vehicle which carries an individual, or a group, from the start to the final destination.

This precisely is the meaning of coaching and the role of the coach – to help the client move from the present to the future state. The client is effectively transferred from now to where they want to be in the future – in a situation with more possibilities and resources for action. Two goals need to be defined for coaching to be successful:

The final goal (result/outcome): where the client wants to go;
The process goals: how the client wants to get there, with all the stopovers en route to the final destination.

When to decide for coaching?
  • Coaching works best when you realise that you want to develop and/or improve your competences to:

  • improve your decision-making,
  • enhance your intrinsic motivation,
  • become more creative,
  • raise your level of empathy,
  • improve your efficiency at work,
  • be more responsible to work and other people,
  • solve problems quicker,
  • manage stress more effectively,
  • manage your time better,
  • become more goal-oriented,
  • achieve goals more independently
  • ...

Who is coaching for?
  • For all who have secret wishes, but don't know to define them or make them come true.
  • For all who wish to achieve more in business, but don't know where to start.
  • For all who long for a happier and more fulfilling private life.

Coaching can last just a few sessions or take a longer time – depending on the goals, i.e. what you would like to achieve and how. Sessions usually take place once a week and last 60 minutes. Skype sessions can also be organised (30 minutes).
